The operating cycle of the tester may consist of:
Test preparation

• Snap-oriented product
• Physical contact with the product
• Creation of test conditions (supply voltage to switch on the product, the time needed to "wake up" the product after switching on)

Self-test, which may consist of sub-steps

• Put the product in the test mode
• Initiative to create an action, such as pressing a button on the product
• Measured response to the stimulus action
• Evaluation of the measured response

Finishing operations

• End test mode of the product
• Removal of the test conditions (cooling product discharge capacitors...)
• Writing test information in the product or in the database
• Style description, label ...
• Postponement of the product
