Test tracks are usually based on one or several groups of working fluids such as air, freon, water or oil. Each group is individually controlled and allows you to set a constant or the given curves of variable parameters of the medium. The main media are fed into the test object, where the activities of the scanned object changes its parameters.

The flow of media is carried out by fans, compressors or pumps. It can provide heating or cooling media for air humidification such as steam, possibly drying by absorption or condensation air. Streaming media is controlled by a system of valves.

The media is controlled by in-process measurement controllers connected via the actuators. For accurate determination of the properties of the test object precise measurement of the media is used before and after passing through the test object. Typical characteristics of the test objects in the survey are efficiency, body PV curves, thermal characteristics, etc.
